Old Mckinney

I wonder what it must have been like to call a log cabin home? Those early settlers in North Texas were willing to endure a lot of hardship in order to establish a life and pursue happiness and prosperity. I hope we are good stewards of their legacy of perseverance, endurance, and self-sacrifice.

Not sure I'd want to spend too long there in winter.

Great photos! I just visited McKinney today and love seeing the old buildings, like Dixie's Store, in Chestnut Square. The farmers market there was really fun too. What a charming town.

I do like a nice log cabin every now and then. I’m not sure that I’d like to live in one, however!

About This Blog

This blog is about pictures of Mckinney, Texas. Of course, that does not mean that you won't see pictures of other places once in a while. Mckinney, is one of the fastest growing communities in the United States. It also boasts the second largest historical district in Texas. So, while the community grows into the future it is also trying to stay connected to its roots. This creates and interesting and creative dynamic. I try to capture some of that dynamic in my pictures of Mckinney
