Big, Big Balloons

I showed you the panda bear balloon, now here is a dinosaur balloon. As you can see these are massive and filled with nothing but hot air, appropriate during this political season!

Here is a peek at how the air in the balloons gets and stays hot. Each of the balloons has a gas powered burner that is periodically used, as above, to heat up the air in the balloon.

I don't know about you but floating around several hundred feet up, under a gas burner shooting flames into a cloth sack full of air doesn't sound like something I would do for a hobby.

What fabulous colorful photos! I've always wanted to go up in a balloon but not sure I'd make it a hobby. Photographing them would be enough of a hobby to suit me I think.

Seems like the more time marches on the more we return to the past!

Isn't that the truth!!! Poplar Bluff sooo needs a make over and the olden days look will be quite welcome, believe me!!!

I wonder why they covered the brick streets in the 1st place in McKinney? There was talk of doing that here in PB, but The Historical Society wouldn't let them do it!

But it is crazy how things turn about!

Did you go up in one of them? I wonder what the life span is for one of them? The colors are so bold.

Fantastic shots Dan! Love the colours of the large middle one.

Love the saturation on these photos. If I had to go up, I'd go in the dinosaur. But I'm a landlubber.

About This Blog

This blog is about pictures of Mckinney, Texas. Of course, that does not mean that you won't see pictures of other places once in a while. Mckinney, is one of the fastest growing communities in the United States. It also boasts the second largest historical district in Texas. So, while the community grows into the future it is also trying to stay connected to its roots. This creates and interesting and creative dynamic. I try to capture some of that dynamic in my pictures of Mckinney
